I live in Northern Ireland. I didn’t see small print and ordered a coat for a funeral - paying extra for special delivery. I completed the order and then realised no postage had been charged. Confused I contacted Hobbs to be told they couldn’t deliver quickly to NI. My order took 5 days to arrive. Too late for the funeral - unable to track the item I hoped it would arrive on time. Alas it didn’t and I had to wear an unsuitable coat. Yet I can order clothes online from other companies which arrive from England within. 2 days and not even special delivery. I would have kept the coat despite this as I loved the style but the material was was poor quality.

The Blair coat is timeless and elegant, with a flattering hourglass silhouette. With a high wool composition it was exactly what I was seeking in a classic black coat which will serve me for years to come. True to size, the coat is semi-fitted with enough room to fit a knit layer underneath.

Although the coat is meant to be fitted , I ordered a size bigger for comfort , however the coat was then much too wide on the shoulders . I have now gone for my usual size which is now very fitted across the bust but as I intend to wear it over dresses/ blouses , rather than knitwear , it will be fine . It would also be possible to move the buttons a little so that it’s less tightly fitted . Although the quality is good , it doesn’t feel luxurious and I don’t think I would have been prepared to pay full price , but was happy with my purchase when it was on offer . I imagine I will get many years wear for smart occasions .
