1. MAKE DECORATIONS

This is the perfect time to get crafty, making clever use of what you've got to hand. Leftover wool can be made into colourful pom-pom garlands, while scraps of patterned fabric and a length of ribbon can easily be turned into festive bunting.

2. BRING THE OUTDOORS IN

If you have a garden, it's probably already showing signs of spring. Daffodils, tulips and irises are all in season and will add cheer to a room, as well as artfully arranged greenery like laurel and fern. Or simply adorn some bare branches with painted homemade paper mache eggs.

3. BAKE TREATS

Even if the supermarket is out of Easter treats, they're much simpler to make than you think and are a good way to occupy kids. Try baking some hot cross buns or if you're stuck for ingredients, you can't go wrong with chocolate cornflake nests, filled with mini eggs!

4. CREATE EASTER CARDS

Let your friends and family know you're thinking of them even if you can't get together, by making and sending a good old fashioned note. We've opened our print library, full of bright florals that you can download and turn into stylish greeting cards.

5. RELAX WITH A FILM

If you just want to relax, settle onto the sofa with an Easter-themed film. Choose a classic like Easter Parade starring Judy Garland, a family-favourite like Hop or for laughs, there's always Monty Python's Life of Brian. Just add your favourite homemade treats.
