I've bought this jumper in the past and just needed a new one. It is so versatile. I turn to it lots, for tucking into trousers or skirts and it goes with every colour. It's the winter equivalent of the black tshirt for me. It also washes well. Nice length, fit (not too clingy but a close fit). These jumpers tend to start to start to fall apart at the oxters which is when I need a new one.

I’ve bought a few of these in different colours . They are perfect , skim over any lumps and bumps and actually make you look slimmer !! What’s not to love? I’m size 14 and bought XL. I go between buying L and XL , not much difference in size and XL just gives a little more room. Very chic for dressing with jeans or tuxedo pants ...

This jumper was just as described - I've had this style before but returned it as the colour didn't go with the skirt I wanted to wear with it.

I received my lovely jumper. I’m very pleased with it. However, I must warn people in Ireland that I was charged €25 for postage and a further nearly €20 from DHL for delivery. I thought I was getting it from Irish store. I don’t think I’ll be ordering anything again online

Loved the jumper and wanted to keep it but there was a pull on the front that was obvious before I removed it from the plastic bag. I tried to contact you for an exchange as you had sent me a voucher for my birthday but I received a standard reply advising you do not exchange so I have returned it and I won’t reorder as I have to pay postage again and have used the voucher code. Quite disappointed with customer service.

Lovely warm and useful jumper that goes with everything. i love that it's natural materials I already have several of these in other colours. The one downside is that they are very thin, though warm which means wearing something underneath though nothing patterned as it shows through.

This jumper was nothing special. Very pricey for what it was, but most distressing of all for me, the label said 'Made in China.' It should be mandatory for all UK companies to declare where their goods are made or manufactured to ensure that those wanting to support UK businesses actually do.

I liked the fit and colour of this jumper. However I do find it a little too fine for this season.

I have had a lot of Hobbs clothes over the last 2-3 years, usually I like the quality and fit of the clothes, very often the classic style, but I have never been as disappointed as I have been with this purchase of the black and navy classic style Penny Merino jumpers. What I like is the classic style, the neck finish, the colour range and the really good Hobbs service. What I do not like is the lack of quality of these jumpers. I had read the revues and saw that others had commented on the thinness of the jumpers and also some people said they were sized on the smaller side. This latter influenced my purchase, because, almost between two sizes, I went up a size to allow for this. This I need not have done. I believe for me, the sizing is accurate. Having had a Penny Merino before, I had found it thin, but not too bad. They have definitely got thinner one year or so later, so lightweight now, that, - once out of the plastic bag, - holding the black one up, I could see daylight through the two layers. I have worn it today, under a 3/4-sleeved dress and found it gave me no warmth at all, to the point that I needed another layer on top - indoors! I will never be buying this range again and I now start to wonder if other styles have been cheapened in quality.

What I have just written about the navy jumper applies equally to the black jumper. I like the Hobbs service, have been a regular customer for several years. I like classic styles, have previously liked the quality of the clothes and I like the finish of the neck-line and also the good choice of colours. What I haven't liked this time, re both the black and the navy Penny Merino jumpers is how unbelievably thin they are now. So lightweight, I could see daylight through the two layers, when holding the black one up. I have found it has given me no warmth when wearing it, which is really disappointing. I had this style before and, although thin, it was not nearly so flimsy. It feels bared to a price, as though it could not have any less material. But, saying that, it is a useful style to wear with dresses with short or 3/4 length sleeves. I have been very disappointed on thus occasion with the reduction in apparent quality.

We have bought a few of these jumpers in the past. Lovely colours, easy to wear, easy to wash.

This jumper is a lovely colour and I really like the weight of the Marino wool which is very fine and not too hot to wear. I have bought several of these before and would warn that if you wear them with jeans and a belt the belt will very easily wear through and cause a hole. Enjoy wearing with care.

The purchase was fine but it was too big on me. I have rated the experience as a three as it took over a week for the item to arrive and a week after returning I am still waiting on a refund. I purchase a lot online and Hobbs should maybe look at the processes used by other retailers. It’s a shame as Hobbs items are top quality but will think twice. Or buy from a different retailer!

Delighted with my purchase

I have several of these jumpers and invest in a lovely new colour when I can. The only criticism is that they are a little thin which makes it impossible to wear a pattered layer underneath, however they are warm and comfortable, wash well and can be worn with skirts, trousers and always look great. It was also delivered very quickly.

The sweater is a gorgeous colour and will work well with a tee or blouse under. It’s a good length too.
