This is a lovely jacket but not the bright red that it looks on the website. It is quite a dull red really. I went down a size as other reviews suggested which did fit but was a little snug. On balance I decided to send it back as although it is beautifully made, as all Hobbs clothes are, it just didn't have the wow factor for me.

I just loved this coat, sadly, it didn’t look good on me. It was very well made, beautifully warm and the colour was quite striking. I sent it back.

In my search for the "perfect" Winter coat, I ordered this for choice. Whilst it is a lovely coat, I found another similar coat by Fat Face to simply fit more nicely. The collar on this Hobbs coat sits a little awkwardly, and it is a little large for the sizing. I would recommend ordering a size down to usual. I am a UK Size 6, and the size 6 was really quite large, even with a chunky knit jumper underneath. Even allowing for layers, I would recommend ordering a size down. Despite my returning this coat, it is still a lovely choice. THe colour is a true pillar-box red and the fur trim on the hood is a nice touch. It is unfortunately not weather-treated or machine washable, but it looks the part. It has elasticated cuffs to keep the cold out, and I would imagine is toasty warm. I am impressed that Hobbs (which seems to see animal products as "luxury", see it's stance on cashmere, leather etc.) has produced this coat without down or animal products. It is lovely to have a cruelty-free coat and I would really recommend it! Just for me, I preferred a choice from another shop. However, if I had need for two, I would certainly have kept this one. One thing to bear in mind is that this is quite a long "jacket" - it does cover 2/3 of the bottom... so it wouild cover your jeans pockets, for example. It is therefore longer than your average jacket. That might be good for some folks who want more coverage, or a disadvantage to others that don't want to be sitting on the coat (riding a bike, perhaps?) I raise it to poit it out, because I had not realised looking at the photographs online.

Bought for my daughters Christmas present. Lovely and soft and a good fit . Generous enough to take a warm sweater underneath without making you look like a ‘Michelin man’! The hood is detachable which gives it greater versatility.

Just what I was looking for. I spotted this jacket when I walked passed their store but didn't have time to go in and try it on. So I ordered on line and received it the next day. It was just what I was looking for, it's going to be lovely and warm, it is far lighter than my Fatface puffer coat. It has a nice fitted shape which is great for the hourglass figure. I think the jacket comes up a little big, but this may be because they expect us ladies to wear thick jumpers underneath it. I probably should have got a size 8 as I'm quite small on top, but I was surprised at the inch space on my hips and bum because this is where clothes are always tight, while I have a huge gap around the waist. Can't wait for the weather to get cold enough so I can start wearing it.
