This dress is not hanging well on me - it's not waisted and I didn't realise the tartan was just a patch on the front. I expected it to be on the back too. Sorry but it's going back.

As always at Hobbs Chester, the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The clothes are excellent quality, and the styles in the main suit me. I would like to make two suggestions: summer dresses with mid or half sleeves - rather than so many with cap sleeves; better range of trousers - they currently seem to be mainly smart office wear or skinnies. I was very pleased to find the style that I bought, but please consider more wide-legged styles.

I ordered a dress - price was £139. My husband picked it up for me and when I checked the Invoice it said the original price was £119 but I was charged £139!!!!!! I then reordered when it was advertised at £119 and had to argue in store to get my £139 returned.

Loved this dress it was perfect for the burns night celebrations and ceilidh dancing - lots of room to move, good length lovely fabric, overall lots of complements . Can’t wait to wear agin.

I love this dress so much I bought it twice! I had to as I'd cut the label off before trying on as normally Hobbs fit me perfectly - but my size in this dress came up small, so I had to re-order the next size up I wore it yesterday for the first time, and although better across the chest, Hobbs are going the same way as other retailers such as Boden and skimping in areas not previously an issue - in all cases recently, arms on all my recent purchases, including this one, have been made slimmer and so are tight and uncomfortable I spend circa £500 a month with Hobbs - love the brand but if they continue with this arm skimping, then my money will go elsewhere - such a shame!

Straight shift shape so forgiving of lumps and bumps around the middle. A bit big on the shoulders and at the neck for me but I often have that problem. Good quality fabric.

Purchased in store after trying on. Not the combination of colours I normally would choose but it works. Great fit and length for me- I’m 5ft 7 and a size 14. Have worn loads from daughters birthday outing to Xmas drinks party and Xmas Eve- compliments from all!

I bought this dress for a Christmas wedding, and it is perfect! It is a perfect length for me - as I’m just 5’ 3”. The only fault I found was that the sleeves were too neat at the top. However there was enough material for me to have them adjusted. The description did say the sleeves were slim.

I bought this dress after having been told that the velvet yoke and sleeves was navy blue only to discover that it was in fact black. The dress is also much shorter than I expected so although I did indeed love the dress, the colours were wrong for me and far too short. Disappointing but customer service and returns was easy and efficient.
